Denver Airport Transportation

Not only is Denver the capital and largest city of Colorado, but it’s also a major hub for business and politics, home to an important number of major companies and government headquarters. Most business travelers recognize it for the Denver Conference Center. To get to your hotel from the airport in such a bustling city or any other cities in Colorado can be a catastrophe. What to do if you don’t have own transport and you have to reach a destination? We gathered the most important information about transportation from the airport to different cities in Colorado.

Travelers can use the rail service, named the A-Line, to get from the airport to Denver Union Station and vice versa courtesy of the Regional Transportation District (RTD), metro Denver’s public transit provider. As well as with Denver Union Station, you can reach railway stations of other Colorado places, but trains to them don’t go as often as to Denver.

The rail service whisks passengers to the center of downtown, specifically the recently restored Union Station, which is the city’s new transportation hub and “living room,” thanks to its plush surroundings. From Union Station, travelers can access additional local and regional transportation services, such as light rail, regional and local buses, Amtrak rail service, taxis etc. The new Denver airport rail has six stops between the airport and Denver Union Station. The ride takes about 37 minutes.

Where and How to Buy a Ticket

Tickets can be purchased on rail line platforms at ticket vending machines, in Union Station Underground Bus Concourse or at any RTD sales outlet. Ask an airport worker about actual prices of the tickets.

The recently remodeled Union Station, located at the other end of the line from the airport, provides easy access to the restaurants, bars, microbreweries, shops and attractions around Lower Downtown (LoDo), Coors Field and the bustling pedestrian 16th Street Mall.

Besides the railway station, you can reach any town in Colorado by a few other ways: by a public bus or a charter bus for example. These ways are much faster but of course, cost more. If you prefer money more than time – trains are surely your choice.
